Lyrical Laps literacy and spoken word project

The Half Moon Theatre ran an INSET for eight KS1 school staff in Laps 3 and 4 to enable them to run after-school sessions using the cameras and lesson plans that they received. The aim of the project was to encourage schools to run their own after-school sessions.

1st January 2010 - 30th April 2010

During the six weeks of after-school sessions, children used drama techniques to explore and devise their own spoken word and poetry pieces. These pieces were filmed and the footage from all students/schools was edited by a professional film-maker and woven together with graphics. This will be presented within the specially designed installation housed at Half Moon.

This project aimed to aid sustainability of out-of-hours drama clubs in primary schools.
