Schools Cultural Vision Programme

Managed by A New Direction (the key strategic organisation for connecting young Londoners with the city’s creative and cultural energy, also the delivery organisation for Creative Partnerships in London), the Schools Cultural Vision programme focuses on the ‘Enjoy and Achieve’ aspirations of the LBTH Children and Young People’s Plan, and has been designed to support schools to identify, celebrate, and develop the cultural opportunities available to all members of the school community.

1st November 2009 - 31st July 2010

The programme took place throughout the Spring and Summer terms 2010 in Primary and Secondary schools across Tower Hamlets. It aimed to assist schools to: audit their current cultural provision and relationships with cultural providers; develop new cultural partnerships based on the needs of the school; and evaluate the process, embed new practice, and share learning with participating schools across the borough.

Throughout the programme, each participating school has had the opportunity to engage with a variety of different cultural partners, both locally and across London. These have included dance groups, circus troupes, visual art galleries, drama companies and more.
