Activate The Arts – Hooded Arts Project

The Hooded Art project, funded by the Activate the Arts programme, from The Streets of Growth encourages young people to express themselves by fusing fashion and a variety of art techniques.

The project aims to use the medium of fashion and graffiti art to encourage young people to explore, challenge and understand individuals and social perceptions, beliefs and opinions on a range of community and social issues that young people feel are important.

The Hooded Team, of young people and artists, will create a programme where young people have the opportunity to explore and create fashion garments with challenging and thought provoking statements. They will then have the opportunity to promote, market and sell their garments at Spitalfield’s Market. One aim is that this initial program will create a mini-enterprise which will generate a customer basis with regular orders and commissions.
