Dig for Victory

Find out what the lives of young people were like during the Second World War

1st January 2010 - 31st August 2010

Children across Tyneside will be experiencing what wartime life was like, in a series of visits to Hartlepool Museums wartime exhibitions, the Heugh Gun Battery, and a theatre piece, “The Machine Gunners”.

Then – following the government planting information sheets from the war – they will be growing their own vegetables in their school allotments and gardens.
