Organisations from the cultural, community and education sectors have been able to apply for up to £5,000 for projects that meet both the FYT criteria and an identified local need, creating access to cultural programmes with and for children, families and young people from some of the most deprived wards in the region.
This concept has been a massive success. The June funding round supported 44 applications with £126,500 distributed to a wide range of targeted projects across the region. The September funding round has received 67 applications and decisions will be made shortly about distributing the remaining grant money.
The APF Initiative complements the FYT-PUSH Strategic Programmes and the Youth Voice and Influence Programme. More to follow on those initiatives later in the year.
